City of Santa Barbara Tesla Battery Installation Project

Beacon West provided the City of Santa Barbara electrical engineering services and a constructability and technical review for installation of battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Cater Water Treatment Plant. The Beacon West team provided monitoring and oversight of the installation work performed by the contractor. This work included installation of the BESS’s, two switchboards, conduit and cable installations, cable testing, interconnection with existing equipment which involved bus work modifications to allow termination of the cables, review of power shutdown procedures, protection coordination setting of the breakers, and general electrical construction monitoring.
